I left Najera at about 8.30 it was forecast for a temperature drop and rain. The way out of Najera winds its way through up and out climbing steadily after the top of the climb is reached ,it slopes down towards Azofra quite an easy 6km. As i left it started to spit, I chose to get wet as Iwas wearing my merino wool top and often putting on a water proof means your wet inside the jacket from sweat and outside from rain. Eventually about three km in I put on my jacket leaving the pit zips open to allow for air flow. I made good time to azofra and stopped for a canned sweet tea. Leaving was painfull, Im having foot problems and decided to wear my ankles supports, a terrible idea as it compressed my already compromised feet. I pushed my pace using my sticks to enhance my pace until i just couldnt. I expected to do Santo Domingo de la Calzada by 2 latest and Granon by 4pm. I arrived at three in Santo Domingo, the temp had dropped by 14 degrees I was soaked through the dizzy spells Ive been having almost put me in the dirt a few times. I was in real pain and I would say in trouble. I found a resteraunt and ate. Then walked to the Parador who kindly called the taxi, I travelled the last 5 miles to my over night stay that way. I didnt much like the casa rural but the room and bathroom were private to me and it wasnt uncomfortable. I ate again, not that it helped the dizzy spells and slept for 9 hours unusual for me.
