I had a bit of a melt down in Los Arcos the evening I arrived. Ive been quite angry, tired unsure of what the hell im doing here and in pain blisters on blisters plantar faciatis pain and vasculatis up both legs and generally emotionally not in control. I took a taxi yesterday morning to Logrono. I decided to have a reset day, a friend kindly pointed out it was a good idea. What a Gd send Ibis budget hotels are, my language skills are not great but the team there all spoke amazing English. They could not have been more helpfull. I arrived and immediately started to look for a podologist, off course i couldnt communicate but the front desk called back for me got me an appointment and called me a taxi. Clinical podological el Caminante. Im not sure if this is normal but the Dr removed my shoes and socks and started to work, he cut away all the dry skin on my heels then used a dremel to finish smotthing them out he drained my large side blister on my left heel and using a scalpel opened and drained and treated what needed treating. I didnt understand him and im sure he didnt understand me. At his advice i am using urea repair cream and i bought softer walking shoes. Planet Agua Logrono for the shoes and light weight tops. Merino wool base layers are hell in 28 degrees.
I did a lot yesterday got my gear cleaned rested walked more than i should. Changed shoes. When i woke up this morning the vasculatis had gone pretty much. I didnt want to leave the Ibis budget, the team there helped make yesterday a good reset day.
