Semana santa.

This rest, stop, break, has been good and bad. We the four of us are staying in an amazing air B&B in Leon, the owners are lovely. The flat is beautifully done up and well equipped. I have slept more here than any where else on the camino. Lots of sleeping during the day, a few forays out to look around and enjoy this great city. But as usual I start to feel low by the second day of rest, I have feelings nudging at the corners of my mind that are old and well worn. Luckily there not important any more to me and a chat a walk or a little sleep seem to drive them away. Tonight we went out to see the first of the Semana Santa parades.  Lots of people reverently waiting and watching, I filmed in all for probably ten minutes. Other pilgrims wanted footage, I got into work mode very easily. I realised today, I dont hate everything about my past. I really enjoyed the chance to film like I was doing my old job, it felt good I felt a little of that old adrenaline I was tempted to follow the procession and keep filming. My spirits lifted. Wow I have some thinking to do, could I really continue to film shoot make short films or documentarys. Maybe walk before running.

    Hi Simon
You’re creating a lot of interest, and we’re a world away from your expedition! It’s really revealing to push yourself into places and experiences you haven’t encountered before. They’ll be satisfying and valuable, I don’t know of anyone, family or friend who’s done what you’re doing! Well done.
