I am an expert in social isolation.

I like many people who live with depression, Bpd, or any other mental health issues, am an expert in both isolation and distancing. Today infact I said to a friend that I was going to socially isolate myself. He laughed as I did, I had to and have to admit that prior to my Camino I had pretty much isolated myself for 10 years. Its really not that difficult, its really easy to avoid people if you really want to. I used to go out and treat the world like it had the plague, dont go near anyone dont touch anyone. It was also lonely and painfull, and I am really sorry that so many people are clearly ignoring the medical advice being given.  I guess regardless of the fear around the corona virus, there is a great deal of fear in being alone. Well time alone can be very theraputic, read, listen to music, clean a room or a shelf, watch a film, meditate. Sit and watch the street. Its ok to be nervous of your own thoughts, but we are all going to have to get used to it. Dont sit and brood dont watch to mutch news. It wont help your heart or your head. Fill your day with many different activities, dont sleep to much in the day. The nights can be very long. Call friends. Write a diary, doodle draw it really isnt important if your talented or not. Finds ways to express your self. I promise it will be ok. Take it from a veteran of self isolation, you will all be fine.

thanks for starting this blog again. I found it very comforting as both of us and dog will face 2 to 3 month in isolation now – I can’t even imagine what that will feel like. It keeps me awake at night.
