Why do so many people on the Camino end up with blisters, shin splints, ankle sprains, knee injurys. The list is endless and the truth is it can be because of bad advice from your local outdoor shop. Or bad purchasing decisions by the walker themselves. But a large proportion of these injurys come about because many people who come on this walk have not prepared at all, having said that many people who do prepare fall foul of the same trap. Then there are people who come on this walk, who are hill walkers or cross country runners. If you happen to meet someone you like you may walk with them, if they are one of the latter group ie hill walkers etc. Its easy to be drawn into following there example and then discover you may be able to walk 30k a day with them for a week. After that your body starts protesting, and as i see tonight as I limp along there are plenty of other people who have fallen into that trap. Or maybe its just blisters.
